Plot
Storyline
A gift of music transports people back to another time and place where they find their truest feelings.
Clothes designer Kristin Parson (Lacey Chabert) is not having the success in L.A. that she dreamed of when she graduated high school. She packs her and her daughter's things into the car and they take a two-day ride northeast to her small hometown, but neither Kristin nor 9-year-old Emily is at all happy about moving. Kristin's aunt Sarah, who runs a diner, helps them get settled: Emily gets Kristin's old room and Kristin manages to get Emily a late audition for the school's Christmas show, mostly because the music teacher, single Danny Collier, had a crush on Kristin back in high school. He helps Emily with her singing and helps her write her own song for the show. Emily stops missing L.A. and so does Kristin.
