Plot Storyline
John McClane travels to Russia to help out his seemingly wayward son, Jack, only to discover that Jack is a CIA operative working undercover, causing the father and son to team up against underworld forces.
It seems that some things never change. Always the guy in the wrong place at the wrong time, NYPD Detective John McClane flies to Russia when he learns that his estranged son, Jack, has been arrested in Moscow. Hoping to bail him out, McClane is instead caught in the middle of a terrorist conspiracy when corrupt Russian official Viktor Chagarin blows the courthouse to smithereens. But there is always a skeleton in the closet. After a destructive escape through the bustling city, John discovers Jack's unexpected secret and the high stakes involved in protecting Yuri Komarov, a political prisoner and government whistleblower. As bullets fly and the bodies pile up, the father and son must work as a team to take down Chagarin and retrieve a secret file in Komarov's possession that is vital to global peace. This time, not one but two McClanes raise hell in the name of justice. And after all this time, John's instinct remains infallible: every day is a good day to die--but not today.
