Springwood, Ohio, 1987. Haunted by horrible visions of a decrepit house, suicidal teen Kristen Parker wakes up covered in blood after a nearly fatal encounter with ghastly Freddy Krueger. As a result, Kristen winds up in Westin Hills Psychiatric Hospital, a state facility studying sleep disorders, one short year after A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985). As Kristen discovers that her fellow patients all suffer from Freddy's attacks, a compassionate dream researcher with an unbreakable link to the past's horrors steps up to offer closure. But six agonising years after the revenge spree in A Nightmare on Elm Street (1984), no one has confronted the ethereal killer and lived to tell the tale. And now, desperate times call for desperate measures. Do the last of the Elm Street Children stand a chance of defeating the demonic architect of torment?
