Plot
Storyline
When a brothel closes because of new laws, four of the prostitutes decide to go into business running a restaurant. They discover they cannot escape their past.
When prostitution is banned in 1958 and an Italian brothel has to close, four prostitutes open a country inn together. However, their integration into bourgeois society fails - Adua, Lolita, Marilina and Milly soon discover that they cannot leave the past behind so easily.
