Plot Storyline
In 1836, a small band of soldiers sacrifice their lives in hopeless combat against a massive army in order to prevent a tyrant from smashing the new Republic of Texas.
San Antonio, 1836. Texas has declared its independence from Mexico, but the Mexican dictator Santa Anna intends to bring the new republic back under his control with an army of 7,000 men. General Sam Houston is hastily assembling troops to oppose him. To buy time, Colonel Travis and Colonel Bowie are tasked with holding off the Mexican forces for as long as possible at the Alamo, a former mission station hastily fortified for defense. The two men have very different personalities and constantly clash. Joined by them, several dozen men from Tennessee under Colonel David Crockett stand against the advancing Mexican army. When the battle rages, the motley crew of not even 200 men defies overwhelming odds for days on end.
