The Sole family in Alcarras has been growing peaches for 80 years. This summer, they are gathering for the last time to harvest together. The land was once given to them by the landowner Pinyol as thanks for his rescue during the Spanish Civil War. But the young Pinyol wants nothing more to do with his grandfather's handshake. He wants the land back so that he can build a photo-voltaic plant on it. Grandfather Rogelio does not give up hope of persuading young Pinyol to give in. Father Quimet throws himself into the harvest work as if there were still a tomorrow. Dolors holds the house and family together with cheerful patience, but she is also able to draw bold boundaries. The older children Roger and Mariona, Quimet's sisters Gloria and Nati and brother-in-law Cisco all help with the work, amidst the irrepressible raving of the children Iris, Teia, Pau and Pere.
