Plot
Storyline
A boy blackmails his neighbor after suspecting him to be a Nazi war criminal.
In 1984, in California, the high school student Todd Bowden is an "A" student and great athlete, and his best friend is his schoolmate Joey. He finds that his neighbor Arthur Denker is Kurt Dussander, who is a wanted Nazi criminal of war. Todd collects several evidence and blackmails Denker to tell stories from the concentration camps in the World War II. Todd spends the afternoons with Denker, and his grades fail and he loses interest from his girlfriend Becky Trask. The school counselor Edward French sends a letter to Todd's parents and Denker helps Todd to hide his grades from his parents. But something happens that will affect their weird relationship.
