Plot Storyline
A hapless loser sells his soul to the Devil in exchange for seven wishes, but has trouble winning over the girl of his dreams.
God-fearing twenty-eight year old milquetoast Stanley Moon, suicidal in hating his life, is a short order cook at Wimpy Diner in London. He literally prays to God to have the nerve to speak to Margaret Spencer, who he's loved from "afar" ever since she started working as a waitress at Wimpy six years ago, she who arguably doesn't even know he exists despite yelling out her orders to him. Regardless of if God heard his prayers, what makes known to Stanley that it has heard this plea is the Devil, in this specific Earthly life to Stanley calling itself George Spiggott, claiming to be an ex-communicated angel and thus a creation of God. Surrounded by the Seven Deadly Sins which aide and abet the Devil in carrying out its dastardly deeds, George makes a deal with Stanley to grant him seven wishes in return for his soul, Stanley's agreement in figuring that he never used his soul anyway and doesn't even really know what it is. Stanley plans to use those seven wishes in his pursuit of a happily-ever-after in love with Margaret. George has a specific unspoken end goal in wanting Stanley's soul. What results in the process of those wishes is a love/hate relationship for Stanley with George, and Stanley having a better understanding of his life and life in general. A question becomes whether both Stanley and George have a soul-back guarantee if they don't get what they want out of the deal.
