A young woman named Ella with the gift of discernment of spirits finds herself confronted with the increasing presence of evil in her community. She confides in Father Mark, who becomes aware of the growing danger. Without the consent of the Church, they travel to Rome to visit Monsignor Giordano for confirmation and possible answers to what Ella is "seeing." With the help of Monsignor Giordano, Ella learns that she has a gift far greater than she imagined, she is a Bellator, a spiritual warrior against evil. Once back home, Ella and Father Mark are confronted with the knowledge that an evil dark force has crept not only into the lives of those around them but the Church itself. The sinister evil which threatens the church and has already claimed the lives of two people has now taken possession of Father Nicholas a young priest. It is up to Ella, who finally accepts her calling to stand and fight evil. Along with her two friends, Father Mark, and Monsignor Giordano are drawn into the inevitable fight between good and evil to fight the forces of darkness head-on. Ella seeing her own spiritual armor of God, uses the sword of the Spirit and shield of faith, to fight and triumph against spiritual wickedness in this unseen war.
