Beyond the Poseidon Adventure 1979 DVDRip x264-REGRET

Takes the time and locale of The Poseidon Adventure (1972) and presents it from another perspective. Mike Turner is the captain of the Jenny, a salvage boat. Along with his aging longtime friend and second mate Wilbur, they, in the east Mediterranean, are en route to North Africa to drop off a young woman they just picked up, Celeste Whitman. Their plans change when they are caught in a tsunami, apparently the result of an earthquake. They are able to survive but Mike has lost all his cargo and thus his life savings, he in the process in threat of losing his boat in being unable to meet upcoming payments. However, they come across what they learn is a capsized cruise ship, the S.S. Poseidon, Mike believing he can claim the salvage rights, all he really wanting is what they would be able to carry out of the goods and cash in the purser's office. They arrive on the scene at the same time as another shipload of Greek medics led by Dr. Stefan Svevo who received the Poseidon's S.O.S. Those on the two vessels banding together, they are able to find a way into the Poseidon. Along the way, they do find individual pockets of survivors inside. They realize time is of the essence as the ship's situation is precarious and is prone to explosions and could sink at any moment in the shifting waters. Mike is up front to all concerning his mission aboard, but he also vows not to leave anyone behind in escaping the Poseidon. That exit from the ship is threatened by those shifts in the ship's situation, including the way they came in now being blocked off, and by the different motivations within the group, some whose true mission aboard may be contrary to the others making it out alive.
