Former stray cat Max happily found a home in a woman's big city apartment, where he raises kitten son Cape. When their new parrot housemate brings up the Cattopia legend, Blanket admits he was there and Cape's mother is there, on a mountain in the jungle across the river. Tired of indoor boredom, Cape seeks a way out, failing to fly but building a rocket. It works, semi-crashes and gets him in a wild land where a gibbon and a black stray cat save him from the raccoon animal hunters. He'll learn danger comes from a glass factory and cattopia is under a lake, not recommended, yet risks venturing. Blanket and the parrot followed, past a nirvana seeking animals commune, and team up with the black stray, formerly Blankets' buddy whose life he once saved, to help Cape, who got caught by the raccoons, escape and set up their own dream land.
