Plot
Storyline
A New York City architect becomes a one-man vigilante squad after his wife is murdered by street punks. In self-defense, the vengeful man kills muggers on the mean streets after dark.
Paul Kersey, a successful Manhattan architect, seems to have it all: a supportive wife, a lovely daughter, and a peaceful life, but happiness is an illusion. When a sadistic gang of street thugs robs Paul of everything he holds dear, he soon realizes he's on his own. Sadly, the efforts of the local police department to find the culprits are embarrassingly fruitless. More and more, the sense of injustice gives way to an irrepressible desire for revenge, leaving the once quiet family man with no choice. As a result, bent on cleaning New York's mean streets, Paul summons up the courage to take the law into his own hands and become a self-appointed executioner. Now that Kersey has tasted the forbidden fruit of vigilante justice, no mugger or killer is safe from harm and his deadly .32 calibre Colt Police Positive revolver. What will it take to stop the bloody crusade and Paul Kersey, the man with the death wish?
