Under the leadership of a man called "El Uruguayo", a group of bank robbers plan the perfect crime: they want to empty the vaults of a bank in Valencia and then disappear unnoticed through an escape tunnel that leads directly into a disused subway station. At first everything seems to go well, but then El Uruguayo and his accomplices Gallego, Loco and Varela run into unforeseen problems: A sudden change in the weather causes the escape tunnel to flood, and the robbers are therefore trapped in the bank together with their hostages. Among these hostages is bank employee Sandra, who has just learned that she is about to lose her job. She therefore decides to make common cause with the bank robbers in order to get some money. Meanwhile, a task force has positioned itself in front of the bank building to negotiate with the hostage-takers in order to save lives. The operation is led by the obscure Mellizo, who wants to stop the bank robbers at all costs. What's more, the bank robber El Uruguayo has concealed something important from his accomplices, which is a major source of tension for the group.
