Eager to follow in the mysterious footsteps of his scientist father, a now-adult Phillipe Delambre is determined to vindicate him after the events of The Fly (1958). However, with the equipment and the dangerous integrator/disintegrator cabinet all smashed, the ambitious researcher has a long way to go before he can push the boundaries of knowledge. As his uncle and father figure, Francois, advises Phillipe to give up the idea of perfecting Andre's strange machine, greed and deceit doom the matter-transfer experiment to failure. Now, the same research is Phillipe's downfall; human atoms mixed with insect DNA result in a horrific mutation bent on revenge and murder. But Uncle Francois believes he can save him--all he has to do is follow the trail of dead bodies and somehow reverse the process.
