Plot
Storyline
The charismatic swordsman-poet and provocateur in 1640s Paris helps a young guardsman woo the woman he loves, complicated by the politics of the nobility and the war with Spain.
A man of many traits and talents, Cyrano de Bergerac, a 17th-century Gascon swordsman, poet, and philosopher, is highly efficient with both his sword and his tongue. He also happens to own the largest nose in Paris. Secretly head-over-heels in love with beautiful Roxane, Cyrano is shocked to discover that she has fallen for the handsome but shallow recruit to the Cadets de Gascogne, Christian de Neuvillette. As a result, convinced that he is no match for the handsome but tongue-tied suitor, Cyrano steps aside and decides to pen Christian's love letters to help him woo Roxane. Isn't this selfless act of kindness the greatest declaration of love?
