In the Nineteenth Century, in London, the journalist Alan Foster meets Edgar Allan Poe in a tavern with Lord Thomas Blackwood and asks to interview the writer. He joins their table and Lord Blackwood challenges Foster to spend the night of the dead alone in his haunted castle. They bet ten pounds and head in Lord Blackwood's coach to the abandoned castle. Foster has a strange feeling inside, but soon he meets the gorgeous Elisabeth Blackwood, who tells that she lives in the second floor of the castle, and takes him to a bedroom. Then she introduces Julia Alert and Herbert that also live in the castle, and Elisabeth and Foster have one night stand. When Foster meets Dr. Carmus, he explains to Foster what is happening in the haunted castle.
