Death Wish

Paul Kersey moves through Chicago like a man already spiritually amputated. By day he patches bullet wounds inside a collapsing emergency room. By night he stalks alleys, bars, garages, and parking lots chasing the men who shattered his family. Each act of retaliation strips away another layer of civility until violence becomes muscle memory instead of moral crisis. The deeper he pushes into the city's criminal undercurrent, the more isolated he becomes from his daughter, his brother, and even his own identity. When the surviving architect of the attack turns the hunt back toward Paul's home, revenge stops feeling righteous and starts feeling terminal.
