With Christmas Eve just around the corner, all Lieutenant John McClane wants is to reunite with his wife, Holly. Instead, the holiday cheer melts away when McClane notices suspicious activity in a snowy Washington Dulles International Airport. As his worst fears come true, the LAPD officer must prevent William Stuart, a rogue ex-US Army Special Forces Colonel, from rescuing General Ramon Esperanza, a ruthless drug lord being flown to the US to stand trial. But with the terminal completely blacked out and a raging blizzard trapping inbound flights, McClane must take matters into his own hands. After all, the terrorists are not bluffing.
