When a massive bomb destroys a department store in downtown Manhattan, a mysterious terrorist calling himself "Simon" contacts the NYPD with a sinister demand: suspended, hungover detective John McClane must play a high-stakes game of "Simon Says" across the city, or more bombs will detonate. With an invisible threat looming over the city, McClane is forced into an unlikely alliance with a cynical Harlem shop owner, Zeus Carver. Together, they must race against the clock to solve Simon's deadly riddles.
