Dracula\'s Daughter (Lambert Hillyer, 1935, DUAL-MultiSubs)

Upon the police's discovery of two dead bodies in a London dungeon, one victim who killed the other, and the killer of the two laid out in a coffin with a wooden stake through his heart, Professor Von Helsing admits that he was the one who drove the stake, but that he was not guilty of murder as the "victim", Count Dracula, was already dead for 500 years, the statement implying that Dracula was a "living dead" vampire. Rather than hire a lawyer to defend him, Von Helsing instead wants to be defended by his former prized pupil, psychiatrist Dr. Jeffrey Garth, solely to prove that he is mentally competent in his assertion and thus not guilty of murder as Dracula was already dead. Garth reluctantly agrees to the Professor's request of him, despite Garth believing that only proving him sane will mean that he will also be found guilty of murder. The disappearance of Dracula's body while under police guard coincides with the arrival into London of aristocratic Countess Marya Zaleska from Hungary. In the two meeting, the Countess wants the Doctor's help in controlling some seemingly uncontrollable desires, she not stating what they are. Concurrently, he is consulted on two patients a few weeks apart, each similar where they are near death in a somewhat comatose state, and have two small puncture wounds on their jugular. If Garth does not piece together the puzzle in quick order, those puzzle pieces including that the Countess only emerges at night and has no mirrors in her apartment, the next victim will be the Doctor's assistant Janet Blake, with whom he has a love/hate relationship.
