As a result, she is not only suspended from duty indefinitely, but also has massive problems in her marriage. Nevertheless, she is asked by her superior for help with a current case. A female victim has been found in a rest home for young women in a strange posture - with her abdomen cut open. Now the detective is to support her colleague Jesper (Roland Moller) in the investigation, as a data carrier has been found inside the woman. Due to the special circumstances, the case quickly arouses Laura's interest. However, working together is not easy, as the duo are very different. In contrast to her empathetic partner, Laura offends many people with her brusque and sometimes insensitive manner. After another, almost identical murder soon occurs, the duo find important clues and recognize the connections. However, it appears that the perpetrator is not only extremely sadistic, but also highly intelligent and wants to punish his victims. And the closer they get to solving the case, the more Laura's personal fate puts her in the killer's sights.
