Eye of the Needle (1981) DVDRip

1944. The Needle is the code name for a loner Nazi spy who has been based in England for the entire span of the war thus far. Using the Anglicized name Henry Faber, his job is to relay top secret activities of the Allied forces in Britain back to Berlin. Ruthless, he will kill anyone, even those on "his side", if it means getting his job done, his preferred method of killing being to stab his victims between the ribs with a stiletto. In his latest mission, he is to take photographic evidence of the Allied plans to storm France, such information which could fundamentally affect the course of the war, and rendezvous with a German U-boat off the Scottish coast to return to Berlin where he is to provide the evidence personally to the Fuhrer. He becomes aware that British intelligence is on his trail and know of his activities. En route to the rendezvous, he barely makes it to isolated Storm Island off the Scottish coast, his stolen boat wrecked in a gale. He is taken in by David and Lucy Rose, who own a sheep farm tended by their hired hand, Tom. With an infant son Jo, the Roses have been married for four years, with the reason David not in active battle in the war being that he, a trained fighter pilot, lost his legs in a car accident on their wedding day. As such, he has become an angry young man, which has negatively affected his marriage to Lucy, who nonetheless still loves him despite how coldly he treats her. Welcoming the Needle who is now calling himself Henry Baker, Lucy enters into a sexual relationship with him in her emotional need. Subsequently, both David and Lucy each have to deal with their individual suspicions that Henry is not all that he appears on the surface as he tries to work his way to Tom's hut to use his short wave radio to contact the U-boat for the pick-up.
