Franz Schubert works for his father as a teacher. But his true passion is writing music like his role model Beethoven.

He meet Therese Grob which became his singer and his first love. The couple make a living with Schuberts songs. On one point Schubert decides to quit song writing and move to writing symphonies and operas. But the way to a successful composer who can live from his talent is hard..
