Handsome, charming gentleman business consultant James runs a luxurious, classy home-share rental side business in his grand Californian small town villa, to spoiled female guests delight. Eliza checks in with her best friends, but unlike the other girls isn't smitten with James, even keeps a suspicious attitude, especially after hearing one of his guests went missing, and finding in her room a necklace that may have been hers. The sheriff assures her James is a model citizen, rumors being spread by his grumpy neighbor Hector checked out false, but Eliza keeps openly suspected the gracious host, whom her mates defend. James meanwhile has to deal with his shady, impatient business partner Rio and his even worse mob boss, which spells big trouble for everybody.
