Plot
Storyline
A cop who moonlights as a lawyer cheats on his wife, not knowing that she's cheating on him and plans to kill him for the insurance.
Ned Ravine is a tough detective who is quick to arrest criminals. He is also a brilliant lawyer who successfully defends in court the same criminals whom he arrested. Unfortunately for him, his busy schedule causes him to neglect his wife Lana, who seeks solace in the arms of auto mechanic Frank Kelbo. Together they hatch a plan to murder Ravine and cash in on his insurance policy, which carries a triple-indemnity cause. Meanwhile, a mysterious blonde named Lola Cain seduces Ravine into a one-night stand, and when he tries to break off their affair, she stalks him. As if all this were not enough, Max Shady, a former client of Ravine who harbors a grudge against him, is fresh out of prison and has publicly threatened to murder him. Meanwhile, Ravine's secretary Laura has built a new life for herself away from her controlling, psychotic ex-husband--but he is looking for her.
