Sophie's got the gang back together, but it's not the same. Bill is distracted writing his novel, Tony is not thrilled with shouldering the sitcom workload and it's all super awkward with Dennis following his divorce bombshell. When Hollywood agent Marc Allen hints at glamorous new career possibilities, Sophie is tempted. Meanwhile, Dennis is goaded by Edith's lover Vernon to appear on his late-night discussion programme – ‘Pipe Smoke' - to debate the merits of situation comedy as an art form, but it's a trap to belittle him.
