Plot
Storyline
Set in the late 19th century, about a honored but poor patriarch who sacrifices himself to protect his fugitive son.
Despite his age and fatigue, Gebo pursues his activity as an accountant to support his family. He lives with his wife, Doroteia, and daughter-in-law, Sofia, but it is the absence of their son, Joao, that worries them. Gebo seems to be hiding something about this, particularly from Doroteia, who is anxiously waiting to see her son again. Sofia, for her part, also awaits her husband's return, but at the same time fears it. Suddenly Joao reappears and everything changes.
