Hedwig la Diva Con Qualcosa In Più(2001)

Male-to-female transsexual Hedwig Robinson, who was born Hansel Schmidt and raised in Communist East Berlin, fronts her own struggling punk rock band, the Angry Inch, currently comprised of musicians from East Europe, including her lover, Yitzhak with who she has a complicated relationship. They are touring through the US, playing mostly at Bilgewaters, a chain of seafood restaurants, or other equally cheap venues which is all they can afford. Their stops are purposefully chosen to mirror the tour of famous punk musician Tommy Gnosis, Hedwig's former protege when he was late teen military brat Tommy Speck questioning his Christian upbringing. Hedwig is suing him for stealing her songs, the Angry Inch's tour to bring light to the lawsuit which has garnered little public attention, including Tommy not acknowledging it or acknowledging even knowing Hedwig. This situation is set against Hedwig's quest for self-fulfillment, most specifically finding what she considers her other half, in which form that will take she does not know.
