After being jilted by her long-time boyfriend, Kolkata-based Afia Kidwai distrusts men but wants to become a mother through a sperm-donor. She approaches her friend, Megha, to try and convince her brother, Siddharth, but Megha surprisingly refuses, leaving Afia to rely on a fertility clinic to sire a child through an unknown male(s). Delhi-based Megha was amongst the Hindu Pandits who were forced to flee from Kashmir, and since then has hated Muslims.
