Young Christian is the new kid at the supermarket. Shy but fascinated, he goes on a journey of discovery in the world behind the scenes. In the endless aisles of the storerooms, he makes the acquaintance of those little employees who are constantly filling and arranging the shelves. The staff is strictly hierarchically organized and everything runs according to a fixed set of rules. Christian is entrusted to Bruno, the experienced manager of the beverage department. The older man, who soon has fatherly feelings for the boy, shows him all the tricks and teaches him how to drive the forklift truck for which a special driving license is required. On the other side of the beverage department, in the sweets department, works Marion, with whom Christian has a coffee now and then during the break.
