Forty-two year old famed Vancouver architect Vincent Eastman is at a crossroads in his life. He married his college sweetheart Sally, and they began their successful firm together. However, their marriage is ostensibly over - he largely having moved out of their house - except for the work they do together for the good of the firm, and the co-parenting of their daughter Meaghan. The reason for their breakup is Sally's rather controlled demeanor in being concerned about how she and they are presented to the world. That "largely" includes having moved in with his new girlfriend Olivia Marshak, a bylined journalist with a lifestyle magazine. On a solo drive, Vincent tries to figure out what to do where: there are still the occasional sparks of love between him and Sally; he has said the L word to Olivia; and a recent incident demonstrating to him that Olivia doesn't fit into the mold of his professional life, especially while Sally is still one half of "Eastman + Eastman". When he thinks he has it all figured out, he being involved in a car accident on his way back to the city may change everything.
