As a virulent canine flu ravages technologically advanced Megasaki from end to end, unscrupulous mayor Kobayashi decrees that all dogs be banished to Trash Island. But talk is cheap; the best time to take action is now. So, to track down his beloved four-legged companion Spots, Kobayashi's courageous 12-year-old orphaned nephew Atari embarks on a dangerous, nearly impossible rescue mission. However, to reunite with his best friend, the boy will need all the help he can get, including unexpected allies. But who knows what has become of Spots, the Isle of Dogs' hapless prisoner zero?
