In the second season of Jagarna, Erik Backstrom's (Rolf Lassgard)'s calm existence is shaken when Joar Sarn (Simon J Berger) reappears in his life, 15 years after he was convicted of a murder that still plagues the small community in Norrbotten. Erik enlists the help of prosecutor Niki Thompson (Lena Endre) to find out the truth about the murder. Erik's decision to start digging into the case again leads to open conflicts with his former friends, not least with his nephew Peter (Johan Marenius Nordahl) who has now shouldered the role of police officer. Soon Erik and Peter are on opposite sides of the escalating conflict in the countryside, and Erik is once again faced with the choice of sacrificing those he loves, if justice is to prevail.
