Jacques Rivette - La bande des quatre (1989)

Four young actresses-Anna, Joyce, Lucia, and Cecile-who share a house on the outskirts of Paris while studying acting under a demanding and unconventional teacher, Constance Dumas. Their lives revolve around intense rehearsals, emotional exercises, and the fragile bonds of friendship and rivalry. Their routine is disrupted when a mysterious man begins to appear around the house, asking probing questions and showing a particular interest in one of the women. His presence introduces a quiet tension, suggesting secrets from the past and possible danger. As rehearsals continue, the boundary between acting and reality becomes increasingly blurred.
