Plot
Storyline
Documentary of the brief but memorable career of the now iconic James Dean. Narrated by Martin Sheen, the film focuses much attention on his early work for television, and utilizes a variety of archival footage in order to tell the story of the young man who gained immortality with only three feature films to his credit.
Using rare material, this film turns its focus on the unseen James Dean, tracing the little-known television career that preceded the Hollywood legend's feature films. Since 1951, Dean had roles in some 38 TV productions prior to his movie breakthrough in East of Eden. Kinescopes of Dean's TV performances and interviews of people who knew or worked with Dean include footage from 28 of Dean's TV appearances. "You literally see him grow as an artist," says filmmaker Michael Sheridan. Narrated by Martin Sheen.
