Eventually, John confronts Adam, the man responsible for his family's death, and kills him live on camera before surrendering himself to authorities. The film closes with John Doe on trial for 33 murders, leaving society divided on whether he is a hero or a criminal, highlighting the blurred line between vengeance and justice.
