Plot Storyline
The arrival of a newborn girl causes the gradual disintegration of the Cairn family; particularly for 9-year-old Joshua (Kogan), an eccentric boy whose proper upbringing and refined tastes both take a sinister turn.
Following the birth of his sister, Joshua (Jacob Kogan), an impeccably dressed, soft-spoken, nine-year-old child prodigy, finds himself unable to cope with change. Not being the center of attention anymore, Joshua's frustration is increasingly growing; while his blissfully unsuspecting parents, Brad (Sam Rockwell) and Abby Cairn (Vera Farmiga), cherish every moment with tiny Lily (Kolb and Vill), the apple of their eye. But, the boy cries for attention; and, as mysterious coincidences and ominous signs of malice and methodical manipulation damage irreparably the already fragile balance of things, a quiet but sinister undercurrent of unease drags everyone down into its unforgiving depth. What is wrong with Joshua?
