After the debt collector confiscates his house and all his treasures thanks to his brother-in-law's debt, Abah is determined to withstand it by staying temporarily in a house in a remote village in West Java. It is his childhood home, inherited from his father. But then he loses his court case, dooming his family to live in poverty forever. Abah must now get used to his new economic status along with his family: wife Emak, Euis (stepping into adolescence and experiencing her first period and her first crush), and Cemara/Ara (a high-spirited child). They also face problems within their own family that slowly shake their principle: "The most valuable treasure is family."
