Plot
Storyline
1970s, Sweden - Hard working farmer Agne (played by acclaimed actor Reine Brynolfsson) struggles with the harsh reality of his daily life, hoping his teenage son Klas will take over the farm and continue his legacy. Klas however, dreams of a world far away from this rural existence. Sumptuously lensed, this powerful coming of age story, written and directed by Jens Assur, paints a tangled web of shame, guilt, madness and the dreams of youth.
A teenager whose aspirations move away from the family farm, refuses to inherit the hard and demanding routine of his father, a stubborn farmer who extols the virtues of work and sacrifice. As her conflict collides with the challenging economic and emotional realities, her father's paranoid behavior will escalate, profoundly altering the lives of all family members. Anchored by an immersive style that infuses every painting with austere beauty, the first feature film by Jens Assur is a drama set in the 70s that plunges into the agrarian life of Sweden and the painful sacrifices that a family must make to survive .
