Xiao Ye, a scientist, is guided by Tian Ming, a villager, to study the ecology of the flora and fauna of an island village. They stumble upon Tian Ming's older brother, Tian Zhao, and what they find in the mountains is the body of Xiao Guang, a villager. Soon after, they find Xiao Guang's girlfriend, Xiao Mei, and take her to the hospital. Xiao-Ye, Tian-Ming, and Fatty stop by a villager's house to retrieve a meteorite that Xiao-Mei was carrying, where they witness a giant lizard eating a man. The village is quickly turned to rubble. Tianming and the villagers flee from the giant lizard and snake to a factory run by Wu Deqiang, where Xiao Ye senses a strange aura. The wastewater from the factory is making the flora, fauna, and villagers sick. Wu Deqiang wants to get rid of Xiao Ye to protect the factory, and Xiao Ye manages to escape with the help of Tianming and Fatty. However, a giant lizard enters the factory, and Xiao Ye and Fatty head outside in search of a communication signal to call for help. After reaching the cell tower, Xiao Ye calls for help from outside, and Fatty is shot dead by Wu Deqiang's men. Meanwhile, inside the factory, Tianzhao sacrifices his life to save Tianming and Xiao-mei, only to be eaten by a giant lizard. Wu Deqiang escapes with the meteorite in a bag, and Tianming and Xiao-Ye, who want to prevent the meteorite from leaving the country, pursue him to the end. However, giant lizards and snakes attracted to the meteorite's energy appear and the bridge collapses. Tian Ming saves people from the collapse and fights the monsters to the end, eventually defeating the mutated creatures with his strength.
