Will Spann (Gerard Butler) is a successful real estate entrepreneur, but his marriage is in crisis. To have more time for herself, his wife Lisa (Jaimie Alexander) wants to spend some time with her parents. On the way there, the couple stops at a gas station. While her husband is busy with the car, Lisa goes into the shop to buy a bottle of water. After a while, she still hasn't returned and Will is getting impatient. He searches the area, questions the cashier and other customers, but no one has seen Lisa. Will slowly starts to panic. He calls the police and drives to her parents' house, but his wife remains missing without a trace. Back at the gas station, he meets Detective Paterson (Russell Hornsby), who takes up the investigation. However, the police officer finds no evidence of a crime, and even the surveillance videos, which only appear in a dubious manner, show nothing suspicious in his opinion. During an interrogation at the police station, Will realizes that due to his marital problems, he now appears to be the prime suspect himself. He cannot expect any support from the authorities, so he decides to search for his wife on his own.
