Only squirrel Johnson plays with loner wise-guy hedgehog Latte, but the juveniles constantly bicker, ending up knocking-over the pumpkin container use to accumulate the rare bits of water found in their forest since a drought set in, allegedly since the theft of a magical 'water stone'. Although Johnson doesn't even believe the crystal exists, they set out to get it back. Wolves confirm it's in bear king Bantur's palace. Separated after another row, each ends up caught and thrown into bear king's prison cave. Johnson made friends with Bantur's son Amaroo, who plays a part in their escape, but the wolves also contend for control of the crystal while the bears catch up.
