Love's Greek to Me 2023

Ilana Elbaz, a Boston area Professor of Antiquities, has been invited by her boyfriend of two years, Mike Atlas, a hotel developer, to his sister Alex Atlas' wedding in Santorini, the Atlas' home. They will be staying at Mike and Alex's recently widowed mother Athena Atlas' hotel which Alex manages. Ilana has always been a bit hesitant of rushing into marriage herself as she was raised solely by her divorced mother and best friend, Susie Elbaz, after Ilana's father left their lives when she was eight years old. This fact does not stop Ilana from accepting Mike's surprise marriage proposal. Ilana and Athena have always gotten along from a distance and Athena is overjoyed by the engagement, but cracks in their relationship begin to emerge as overbearing Athena takes charge of not only their wedding, like she has with Alex's, but of their entire future, all in the name of tradition. That relationship may be irreparably damaged with Ilana's further quiet urging to Alex to do what she wants for her wedding, and Alex and her fiance Christos Adamapoulos' want for their immediate married life, which are against Athena's plans. Further complicating matters is Ilana seeing a side of Mike that she has never seen or known, and that arguably has emerged from being home.
