Emma is denied a promotion to head chef at the restaurant where she works. When she suddenly realizes that the restaurant's owner, Vivian, is fond of gambling, she makes a bet with her: that she can turn the worst restaurant in town into the best one in just two weeks in order to earn the promotion. Vivian chooses Joe's as the restaurant Emma must fix. It's run by Joe, who inherited it from his father-and while he can cook, he clearly doesn't know how to run a restaurant. Emma convinces Joe to let her help get the restaurant back on its feet. But that proves to be no easy task, as it also means getting Joe himself in order.
