After being sent to an assessment center, a teenage skinhead clashes with the social workers, who want to conform him to the status quo.
Seeing himself as the latest victim of the state's authoritarianism, Trevor, an antisocial, racist, and habitual sixteen-year-old offender, takes great pride in his white heritage. With "enemies" scattered all over Britain, bright but perpetually angry Trevor is utterly convinced that he can beat the dream-crushing system by aggression, violence, and defiance, burning his bridges with friends, family, and social workers alike. But Trevor is unintimidated by the prospect of incarceration, and, when all else fails, there is no place to go but down.
