In the 1980s, a psychopath was terrorizing Los Angeles during a heat wave. Known in the press as 'The Night Stalker', this Satan-worshiping man broke into people's homes, committing various crimes - homicide, child rape, theft - and often leaving pentagrams or satanic symbols at the crime scenes. Los Angeles County Sheriff's Detectives Sgt. Frank Salerno & Gil Carillo - the men who caught the 'Hillside Stranglers' - are assigned to the case, and work relentlessly to learn the identity of this monster before he strikes again.
