Angel is a helpless, confused young man who has to find his way between his tyrannical mother, who is a member of Opus Dei, and the bullfighting lessons of the sinister Diego Montes, who has had to retire because of an injury. One evening Angel, tormented by the need to prove his manhood, tries to rape the pretty neighbor Eva, at the same time Diego Montes' girlfriend, in the open street. His impotence prevents him from doing so, however, and he faints when he sees the scratch the young woman has sustained in her fall. The next day he reports himself to the police. When the girl does not report him and the ashamed Angel then discovers photos of murders and missing persons, the boy confesses to several crimes at once out of a longing for punishment. In reality, the acts are partly attributable to Diego, his teacher, as well as Maria, a young lawyer who stabs her lovers in the spinal cord with a needle at the end of the sex act. Diego soon meets this woman, as she is to take over Angel's defense. Diego and Maria find themselves irresistibly attracted to each other and discover that they belong to the same "race", namely the one that likes to play with death. Angel manages to lead his psychiatrist and the police to the bodies of the two girls Diego murdered and buried in his house. Meanwhile, Maria and Diego are guided by their deadly desire .
