London, early 20th century: Unlike most upper-class daughters, 30-year-old Beatrix still lives with her wealthy parents, Helen and Rupert Potter, in a large house with servants. Instead of conforming to female role stereotypes, the talented watercolor painter and storyteller has dreamed of being recognized as an illustrator since childhood. Her stories and her life revolve around rabbits, ducks, and mice. It is only when she meets Norman Warne, the son of a publisher, who proves to be her soul mate, that her dream becomes within reach.
