Vince Majestyk operates a watermelon farm in Colorado, relying on a strict harvest schedule. After clashing with a local extortionist named Bobby Kopas, Vince Majestyk hires a crew of migrant workers, including Nancy Chavez. Arrested due to false charges, Vince Majestyk shares a cell with a hit man named Frank Renda. When a prison bus ambush occurs, Vince Majestyk captures Frank Renda to leverage his own freedom. Frank Renda escapes and retaliates by destroying the melon crop and assaulting the workers. Driven to the edge, Vince Majestyk abandons legal channels, hunting the criminals through the rugged foothills to settle the score.
