Plot
Storyline
Cash-strapped virtual strangers Jennifer and Vince decide to stage a fake engagement and wedding just for the presents.
Jennifer and Vince meet when they're seated next to each other at the wedding of their respective friends, Courtney and Steve. Sparks of friction immediately fly between them, but Jennifer answers an off-the-cuff comment by Vince by proposing that they get fake-married, although she had said she doesn't really believe in the institution of marriage and all the pomp and ceremony of most weddings. They're both in financial trouble--Vince's is a bit more illegal and potentially violent--and could benefit from being showered with gifts (which Jennifer could keep to replace her recently-stolen stuff) and money (which Vince could hand over to his bookie to clear his gambling debt) in the form of the expected wedding presents. Learning that they must actually go through with the wedding to keep the money and gifts, they decide to fake-plan a wedding and then tell their friends that they eloped at the last minute, while not actually getting married. As they go through the process trying to convince family and friends that they are in love while truly detesting each other, then that they are planning a wedding that really won't happen, the situation gets more and more complicated. They must decide just what they are prepared to do to get the money and gifts. Will they end up finding up what they really want?
